Meet Power Panther

Power Panther says EAT SMART. PLAY HARD.

Power Panther is the mascot for the Food and Nutrition Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

USDA's EAT SMART, PLAY HARD campaign targets children with motivational messages about healthy eating and the importance of physical activity.

Power Panther Pals

Applications for the 2007-2008 academic year are now available!  This year's Power Panther Pals program targets grades 3, 4, and 5 and once again includes activities from K-State Research & Extension's Kids a Cookin'  program.  This year we are also excited to offer pedometers for each participating student as well as $5.00 per participating student in mini-grant funds to help cover the cost of Kids a Cookin'  food and supplies.

Power Panther Professionals

Applications are now available for Power Panther Professionals, a 12 week staff wellness program designed for school and child care center personnel. Its ultimate goal is to improve employees' health and wellbeing while empowering them to serve as healthy role models for young people and other adults.

Power Panther Professionals includes  RealAge®, a dynamic and engaging concept in health and wellness developed by cardiologists. RealAge® provides personalized information and tools to motivate staff members during the program, and can be utilized to support healthy lifestyle changes after the Power Panther Professionals program concludes.  Even if you participated in last year's program, there are new presentations and materials available to keep your staff wellness program going!
